International Leadership
RMSSN students have taken their leadership beyond the two-week academy by participating in the United Nations international climate negotiations, hosted by the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). RMSSN mentors and students are affiliated with the Youth Environmental Alliance in Higher Education (YEAH). The Youth Environmental Alliance in Higher Education (YEAH) Network is a transdisciplinary, multi-institutional network that equips students with real-world experience of collaborative, evidence-based approaches to global environmental sustainability. Much like RMSSN, YEAH seeks to broaden the participation of the next generation in the STEM and climate policy fields. Both YEAH and RMSSN were funded under the same Naitonal Science Foundation grant program - the Research Collaboration Network for Undergraduate Biological Education (RCN-UBE).
